Muresaz project, The solid oak panels Yerevan. 2024

The inspiration for the triptych was the national bib of northern Udmurtia — Muresaz. It protects and decorates the female breast, and is part of beliefs and rituals.
Udmurt craft is original and multifaceted. Despite the developed tradition of wood carving, textile patterns are carved into our panels. This is a deliberate step: we reworked the ornament and immortalized it in the tree.
It is textiles and costumes that distinguish Udmurts from their geographical neighbors. It is difficult to take your eyes off the bright scattering of patterns and ornaments on Udmurt carpets and embroideries. But even without color, wooden «bibs» are pleasing to the eye; intricate patterns also work great on relief.
